ABOUT

Na-Young Son is a multi-disciplinary musician from South Korea, now based in California. Under her artist name '3arly 5ird,' she works as a singer-songwriter and a producer. Her music captures fleeting moments in life as she believes that 'life is just a dream.' Drawing inspirations from indie-rock, folktronica, and city-pop, Na-Young writes and produces music that brings nostalgia through her dreamy sonic palette and poetic bilingual lyrics.
Apart from being an artist, Na-Young is also a student studying Music Composition and Computer Science at Stanford University. She explores different mediums to create sensory-rich experiences through intermedia projects. Her works range from Audio-Visual (AV) and Augmented Reality (AR) projects to AV design for front-end development. Her current research interest lies in the intersection between surround sound system and the XR industry, specifically regarding how we could innovate sound design for XR spaces to create a more authentic, immersive experience.
As an artist and an engineer, Na-Young is driven by the boundless possibilities of music connecting humanity beyond time and space. She aims to contribute to innovating human-centered technology that enhances and expands meaningfulness in human experiences.
